Someone should've warned me about two things.
First, kids grow like a weed. It seems like just yesterday Chloe was 4 pounds, now she's probably 13 or so and chubby as ever.
Second, her smiles would make me melt into a puddle on the floor. That has got to be the GREATEST feeling I have ever felt (and I've had some good one's).

OMG Baloo, just wait until she hugs you and/or says "I love you" for the first time. Dustin is about to be 2 and I can hardly believe it, it feels like it was just yesterday that he was born.

My first born is now in High School. It has been so long since I had those firsts you are talking about. Embrace the moment and burn it into your memory. Get it on video if you can. It won't be too much longer before mine will be on his own and I get the occasional visit and phone call. They say you have 18 years to prepare for this, but I don't think you can ever really be prepared.

Lately she has found her voice box and is talking and laughing up a storm... will some one soak me up? I'm in a puddle on the floor

Just wait til she's married, and tells you, you're gonna be a grandpa. Then that feeling starts ALL OVER AGAIN!
Seriously, being a guy, I dont express emotions like Tamms does, but I will say that there aint nothin in the world like the feeling you get watching your kids grow. I look at Jake, all married and grown up in a home of his own, and I miss that little boy I used to take on the tractor with me. Then I look at Josh, 6 weeks away from being 18, and graduating in May. Where the hell did the time go? Hell, seems like only last week, he fell and busted his a$$ trying to learn to walk.
Enjoy it while you can, Baloo. It's over WAY too soon.
