Well, here we are summer is fast approaching! It's vacation time! Describe your worse/best vacation experiences!
Worse:
Summer of 1977..... Colorado......
Broke my tooth in the hotel swimming pool.
Grandma had a mild stroke.
My brother got lost at Estes park, and we had the all the park rangers looking for him.
I barfed in the car after eating a hotdog at sammy's.
The trip was ENTIRELY too long and I was very happy to be home.

Worst vacation would have to be the summer of 1984. Jake was 10 months old at the time, and we went to Galveston. First off, we had a blow out on the car, ON THE BRIDGE crossing over to the island. Mike had to change the tire, praying like hell nobody hit him. Then, we stayed in this AWEFUL hotel room with a leaky sink. DRIP DRIP DRIP all freakin night. We requested a room change, but they didnt have one available:( The AC didnt work worth a $hit. It was either waywayway too cold, or steaming hot. Jake got SICK with an earache, and screamed his head off. We went to the local ER and got some drops, but he was still cranky. We had one good day on the beach, but Mike got BLISTERED. It was during the time that all the crude oil was washing to shore from that tanker spill off shore. The sand looked great, until you walked on it, then when you looked at your feet, they were BLACK! Gross! Jake cried ALL THE FREAKIN WAY BACK TO CAMERON with his ear. I never wanted to go on vacation AGAIN after that. But, of course we did..... The BEST vacation we ever had was in 1996 we went to Onalaska, on Lake Livingston. It was really pretty there, and the weather was great. The boys were behaving themselves, and not giving us any problems. The resort we stayed at was THE BEST. Great lodging, nice people, everything you could ask for. We spent the days on the Lake, swimming and fishing. One day out of the week, we visited the Alabama-Coushata Indian Reservation just outside of Livingston. It's a working Indian Reservation, and they really taught us a lot about their culture. You can even rent a teepee to sleep in for the night! We spent all day with the Indians, and watched their tribal council that evening. They wore their authentic clothing, and danced and chanted. When they got down to the "real" portion of the meeting...the guests had to leave. I highly recommend visiting the reservation, especially if you have kids. They will LOVE it! The Sam Houston State Forest is BEAUTIFUL, and I will always remember that trip fondly. I CANNOT WAIT for this years vacation, though. I'm hoping it's the best Mike and I have had since our honeymoon. Our first one that will just be he & I since the day we got married! YEE HAW!
