I went to San Marcos tonight to meet an old friend. She moved to Sacramento, CA when I was 18. On the drive over there all these memories were flashing through my mind. My first memory of her was seeing her walk into my 2nd grade class in her homeade clothes and pixie haircut. I had seen her before because her older sister dated my brother in a 5th grade whirlwind love affair. So when she was seated at my desk I did the naturally polite thing, I offered her my crayons. We became best friends. We went through the next 11 years practically inseperable. Then she moved, her mother met a new guy and took them off to California. Ive only seen her a handful of times since then but she still looks exactly the same. The only difference now is that she is a completely different person than she was. She grew up and she watches Martha Stewart for christ sake. We couldn't be more different people now. BUT it was really great to see her. She's still little bitty (damn her ) and looks the same! My other two best friends from school I still see. I guess this one just went off and got Californicated on me. ;D What about you? If you've read this whole post I owe you a milkbone. Any friends that have completely changed since high school?

Not really, I guess. I was the friend who changed. I realized my friends were bad news when I got married, so out the door they went ;D

The only one I still talk to (or did since high school, not anymore) is a part-time girlfriend and full-time best friend. at least that,s what I thought - she was apparently my friend to get into my pants and once I told her that was no longer going to happen - she left. She was quite insane at the end of the whole process. In fact, that's now how we refer to her in the old circles - Crazy Jill (names have been changed to protect the nutty). And out of curiosity, so, Wats, she looked the same? Was she still wearing home made clothes and had a pixie haircut? Sorry, had to ask. Now I want my milkbone!

I just got back in touch with my best friend from elementary. I am sooo happy that she is back in my life. She lives in Illinois but email works great. She has changed alot. She went from a Wild Child to a happily married woman with 3 children. She sounds so happy in the emails she writes. She deserves all the happiness in the world. My 2 other close friends from elementary have changed. One has become the biggest prude ever. Another has walked into the twilight zone. My great friend in Arizona hasn't changed a bit. I talk to her thru email on a daily basis. We used to talk on the phone every day in elementary, junior high, and high school. I need my daily fix of her. Those were the days. I am so glad i haven't lost touch with them. All 3 of these girls were in my wedding party but it is weird to see how some of them changed over the years. I sometimes think back at all the memories I have with these girls and they just make me smile even the bad times.

ok........Heres my story:
I have a friend I have known since kinder. We were inseperable as kids, then I moved away in 5th grade (damn my dad! ;D)
Anyhow, I kept in contact w/ her & would go spend the weekend every once in a while. Then we lost touch for a couple of years during high school, etc.
After highschool, I got back in contact w/ her & started hanging out w/ her non stop again! We moved next door to each other, etc. I met a boy (didnt work) through her, but through him met a girl, that introduced me to my now Hubby! Funny how things work huh?
We still email & chat often, visit occasionally. But no matter how long we have gone w/out talking, we ALWAYS remember each others b-day!

Let's see... my greatest old friend....
Her name was Tracy, we met in the third grade, she was a real rough and tumble kinda girl, while I was all pigtails and dresses. My memory of our first meeting is something I'll never forget....It was the 2nd day of school, and here comes Tracy bounding into Mrs. Robinsons class late...she was wearing hip hugger jeans with a hippie style gauze top and birkenstock sandles. She found a desk right next to me. I must have been staring at her because she turned and looked at me and said " Can I help you?" I was so embarrased, and I was afraid of her...but there was something different about her... she was not like all the other girls... she wasn't even like me, she was a free spirit. We became friends instantly.
We went through the regular trials and trivials of friendship, graduated high school together, then college hit... I was going away, and she was getting married to some asshole whom I hated. Years passed, we still stayed in touch. 3 kids later and two divorces she is still my greatest bud. She now lives in florida were she owns her own yoga studio and lives with her 3 kids 4 dogs and a new beau. We will always be great friends!

Okay, here is mine........ While we were stationed in Germany I became best friends with Jennifer. We were so goofy, we used to watch Star Search all the time and pretend like we were on the show, we were obsessed with Boy George at the time too. Well then the day came that we left and her and I lost contact. About 5 years later my mom came home from shopping and said that she wanted to take me somewhere so I went. We pulled up to this house and before I could say "Where are we?" Jennifer came running outside!! Our mothers had run into each other while they were out shopping. Well a few years went by and we stayed in touch and then inevitably fell back out of touch until about a year ago when I called her mom and she set up another reunion. We met again and she got to meet Dustin and I got to meet her husband and now we stay in touch through email, vowing never to fall out of touch again. ;D
