I had to get a raincheck for Master and Commander this weekend 'cause they were out. Is it a good one?? Rob forced me to see this movie when it first came out. OMG ! I hated it. It was sooo boring.

I've caught two rentals recently:
Freddy vs. Jason was great! A real fun horror/slasher flick with no pretensions. A real call-back to the glory days of the 80's with this genre! Good times, and actually a little scary at points.
Open Range was slow and boring. I like westerns and usually like Kevin Costner and love Robert Duvall, but the direction was heavy-handed, the love story was forced, and the action was non-existent. A real dissappointment for me.
But that's just my opinion.

I liked Open Range Master and Commander was...different. Not bad but not good either. Had a hard time understanding what they were saying at times. Not sure if it was that the sound effects were too loud at times or the English accents...or my kids just distracting me. Anyway, I wish I had time to see it again. I might get more out of it the second time.

I saw Big Fish last night. It was really really good. Basically, it was about a complex relationship between a son and a father.

Rob and I went to check out Van Helsing Friday night and it was such a disappointment. *sighs* They over did it on the CGI. Watch it at your own risk.

Did you know you get a free rental at Hollywood Video on your birthday? I popped in on Sunday to get The Last Samurai and the clerk says, "It's your birthday?". I looked down to see if I was wearing something that gave it away but apparently, it's in his computer. He gave me the movie for free!! Still haven't seen it but it's not due back til Friday. ;D

Watch the Last Samurai, finally! I liked it. Shows how different our American "never say die" attitude is from other cultures. I give it

OK so Rob and I went to see Troy last night and it was alright. I expected alot more. I guess I was looking forward to seeing how they would portray the Gods and it was to my surprise that their were no sign of any of them. They were mentioned occaisionlly but we all know that they played a HUGE role in Greek Mythology. OK don't get me wrong I REALLY enjoyed watching Brad Pitt (Achilles) and Eric Bana (Hector) run around in their skirts. yummy The fight scenes were too short. I want gory fight scenes people! ;D That is just my opinion.

We went to watch this Saturday night and uhhh it was boring. If you want to watch a movie make this your last pick, go see Shrek 2 instead. Now Shrek 2 was GREAT! ;D

I wished someone had warned me about this one! Uma not a good choice and you really have to try hard to follow the story line.
