For all the Stephen King fans out there, especially me! Mark your calendars for March 3rd for the special two hour season premiere of Kingdom Hospital on ABC at 8 PM. The series will then air regularly on Wednesdays at 8 PM. For those of you who are not familiar with the series, it is a new drama series, inspired by Lars von Trier's (Dancer in the Dark) Danish mini-series "The Kingdom" and an actual event in King's real life. Kingdom Hospital is a mesmerizing tale of creepy intrigue, shocking suspense and dark humor, pitting modern medicine against ancient mysticism when a cutting-edge hospital must fend off the evil spirits brewing from a tragedy that happened on the site 150 years earlier. Be sure to visit the official Kingdom Hospital web site at: www.kingdomhospitalofmaine.com

The above was a copy/paste from the SK newsletter I got today. When you go to the website, it looks like a web site for an ordinary hospital. Click around in it and you will see that it is not! There are also pages that will creep you out! This is truly freaky!

I promised Jason that when he got home I wouldn't have a TV show to watch every night and Wednesday was my only free night...until now!!! This show looks like it is going to be good, plus by the time he gets home a lot of the other shows will be over!!

Did you go to the "pain room" and up to the 5th floor? Some interesting reading there.

I watched it last night and I am not sure what to think. It was interesting though and I will probably watch it next week also....Stephen King is such a weird, but talented, man.

From Stephen King fan newsletter:
Dear Constant Reader:
Thanks for making episode 1 an excellent success! The premiere of Kingdom Hospital did better than any ABC dramatic series in over 5 years! But we don’t want to drop the ball now, so stick with us for episode 2 (Wed. March 10th at 10 PM). Remember that Kingdom Hospital is a “novelization for television”. Like a novel, it will pay back dividends but you will have to give it a little bit of time.
Best wishes,
Stephen King
Stephen King's characters are so compelling they sometimes come to life and write their own books (with Mr. King's blessings). Kingdom Hospital fans who want to know more should read the Journals of Eleanor Druse, by Eleanor Druse (the character played by Diane Ladd in the TV series). The Journals tell the story of Eleanor Druse and the terrifying events at Kingdom Hospital leading up to where the series itself begins. You can also visit the site here.

Tammi loves this show, but after tonight, I'm not so sure I'm going to be watching it with her anymore. It seems to me like the show is almost becoming too bizarre for my taste. Same thing happened to me when we got into the Twin Peaks craze a few years ago. The show started out real well, then it got too twisted to really enjoy. I hope Kingdom Hosp. isnt going to do the same thing. I may give it one more try (for Tammi's sake) next week.
